Gogo's Famous Clam Dip
This has always been a party staple in the Gatta household thanks to my incredible mom who invented this recipe about 40(ish) years ago. You might have seen other clam dip recipes before, but nothing quite like this. The combination of lemon pepper, dill and red pepper flakes makes for a tangy dip with a hint of spice at the end. This is addictive - even for people that didn’t think they were into clams.
Some pro tips? If substituting coconut cream for sour cream, make sure to use only the ‘cream’ portion of the coconut milk in order to avoid any issues with the thickness. You can try adding cream cheese to make it thicker, but if you do a good job draining the clams (and squeezing out any/all moisture!) the below recipe should be thick enough on its own.
I prefer eating this with pieces of endive, but most of the family prefers the classic wave-y potato chips. It’s good even on its own! Feel free to keep in the fridge for a few days. Enjoy!
